Bush Letters

Following are but a few of my letters to members of the US government. Some are not included at this time due to the personal and sensitive nature of the content.

Responses: I do not consider the few standard form letter acknowledgments or the few recommendations that I seek help from a private attorney as serious responses. Over the years I received several responses from the US Department of Justice that are included on the "dojletters.html" page. However, no one at any level of city, county, state, or federal government has ever shown interest in my allegations nor has anyone contacted me to discuss the matter. Bush worked quickly to anesthetize every level of law enforcement and block them from responding to me. I know that I am not alone and that anyone filing complaints against the oligarchs that rule our country are treated in the same manner. Any peasant who makes a fuss is to be eliminated.

On August 15, 2002 I wrote to President Bush and requested his assistance in bringing Schwab to justice. Though I had also written to the DOJ's Ashcroft, the FBI's Mueller, and the SEC's Donaldson, Bush did not respond until November 4, 2002, two and a half months later. In his response he fails to mention Charles R Schwab while passing the buck back to the Department of Justice where we had started in August of 2002..

Though President Bush had advised me that the DOJ would respond directly to me "...as promptly as possible," three months passed without any response from them, so I wrote to the president's special assistant, Ms Thompson, and requested the status. Within a couple weeks I received a curt response from the Department of Justice in which my allegations against Schwab were summarily dismissed. I was advised that for any investigation to take place, Ms Haines would have to be the one filing charges against Schwab. This was interesting inasmuch as my primary allegation was that Schwab was hacking into my computers and stealing my emails. Also interesting in hindsight, for Kim was already involved with Bush's conspiracy and had sworn to the FBI that she didn't know Schwab.

In any case, it had taken the president of the United States, George W Bush, nearly six months to respond and let me know that the US government was not going to investigate my allegations against his billionaire friend, Charles R Schwab.

Conspiracy: As the years rolled on, I came to realize that Bush and Schwab had conspired very early on to cover up the story and protect Schwab from our system of justice. They were trashing my civil rights.

Letters to members of the US Government

Though I have written dozens of letters to the US Government, including President Bush, Vice President Cheney, heads of the FBI & SEC, heads of the Senate & House Judiciary Committees, and majority and minority leaders in the US Congress, I have received only a few acknowledgements. However, no one has ever contacted me personally and no one has expressed interest in pursuing my allegations. Thus is the power of the billionaires who own and control the US government who play by their own rules. Senator Robert Byrd discusses all this in his book, "Losing America." The US government could not care less about common citizens like me.

Following are only a handful of the letters I wrote while attempting to get the US government to initiate an investigation into my allegations against Charles R Schwab. They are posted in order of most recent first. No one in the US Government has responded to any of these letters. Unless it is a case that involves very obvious swindling of investors, or one another, out of millions of dollars, our billionaires are immune from our laws.

Wow! The amount of computer hacking activities and planting of spyware on my computers has been phenomenal since I published my web site earlier this year (http://www.aeolusblue.net). I have had a hell of a time keeping ahead of your hackers who are trying to spy on me 24/7. However, with enough help we have kept the computers running.

What I am wondering is if dating services like match.com (http://www.match.com) are aware that your spies are using their services to set up profiles as nice looking women in order to entice men into exchanging emails so that they can gain access to their computers. This really has to be the lowest of blows.

How about your spies who set up accounts with ISP’s like AOL and use these accounts to send emails containing viruses to unsuspecting innocent people like me. Are the managers of AOL and other ISP’s aware of how the US government is abusing their services? Must be they are aware, for even though I have reported the ongoing attacks from an AOL email address, AOL has obviously allowed it to continue. Except perhaps if the hackers have only made it appear to be an AOL address. Is all this effort really worth it?

As you know, I have been complaining about Schwab’s and the US government’s computer hacking since August of 2002. However, here we are six years later and these activities are heavier than ever. The cost of thousands of contractors hired to hack computers and monitor our phone lines across the US must be substantial. Is it not ironic that the leaders of this once great country spend so much time, energy, and money on surveillance of innocent American citizens?

As our financial system collapses into a ruble heap, I hope that you and the leaders in congress are learning that protecting corrupt billionaires from our laws and system of justice is not wise. Piles of books and magazine articles have warned for years that we would someday pay for the lack of regulation and oversight that might prevent the corrupt ways of the wealthiest people in our country. However, you have protected these people by turning your back on the problem, just as you have done with Schwab’s illegal activities.

Since I first reported Charles R Schwab’s illegal activities in 2002, your administration has engaged in ongoing conspiracy to protect him. You have also engaged in ongoing surveillance activities against me that include heavy computer hacking. No doubt you have included telephone wiretapping. For six years, I have lived with the knowledge that your administration is always spying on me. Not paranoia; I have proof.

Since publishing my web site early this year, your people’s hacking activities have been very intense and my computers have been repeatedly hacked into and bugged. I have reported these illegal activities and abuse of my civil rights to House Speaker Pelosi, Attorney General Mukasy, Senator Leahy, Congressman Peter DeFazio, and the FBI, among others. However, following the plan you initiated many years ago, not one person has responded. Though the FBI has been involved with this case from the beginning, they responded to my recent calls as if they were not even aware of the case. When I told them about the computer hacking that was taking place, they remained silent. Shall I assume then that one must be from Alaska and running for Republican Vice President before the FBI will respond in force and go after the computer hackers?
Many thousands of people from government, bank, and corporate offices all over the world have already visited my web site. The story is well known, so I see no reason for you to continue wasting money and everyone’s efforts spying on me.

I am again requesting that you and others in the US Government call off your spies and allow me to live in peace. Instead of treating me like the criminal, why not stop protecting Charles R Schwab. Bringing him to justice might send an important message to other billionaires who have become so used to breaking our laws with impunity. The US government needs to start working for the American people.

Your investigation into the US Attorney General’s hiring and firing of Attorneys, based primarily upon the political agenda of the Bush Administration, is an historical event. Your frustrated efforts to gain access to White House records are revealing the worst of what can happen in a “democracy” when the checks and balances fail. The elected members of US Government no longer work for American people, but join the Executive Branch in working for the billionaires and corporations who control the destiny of every would-be politician. This is all made possible by an election system based upon private political funding and lobbying rather than on qualifications, character, and dedication to the welfare of the American people. What neither US political party seems to comprehend is that uncontrolled capitalism and globalization have built-in characteristics that assure its own failure.

So far, your investigation into the firing of attorneys has revealed that The White House has spent two terms utilizing the Department of Justice to promote the Republican Party’s political agenda, rather than to enforce the laws of our country. Given these revelations and the seriousness of my allegations against Charles Schwab, I am more convinced that the Bush Administration has been protecting Schwab from investigation by the Department of Justice since I first filed charges against him in August of 2002. I believe that this protection scheme included a conspiracy to denigrate my character and discredit my allegations, which I would like to discuss here.
In August of 2002 I reported Charles Schwab’s illegal activities to Agent Paul Mueller of the Portland FBI office. I also filed complaints against Schwab on the FBI and SEC web sites. During my initial contact with Agent Paul Mueller of the Portland FBI office, I provided numerous documents that supported my allegations against Schwab. This evidence clearly shows that Schwab and Kim Haines had known one another for years and had a personal and business relationship. However, it was later revealed that Schwab and Haines defended themselves against my allegations by claiming they did not know one another. How could Kim betray me like this and how could this happen? Given the wealth of evidence that the FBI had which disproves such a claim, it is highly doubtful that Charles Schwab would risk being charged with a felony by lying to the FBI. And it is even more doubtful that the FBI would accept such a claim without confronting Schwab with the evidence I had provided. This was obviously the beginning of The White House conspiracy to protect Schwab from our system of justice.

In August of 2003 I was interrogated by two Eugene FBI agents and told by Agent John Ferreira that Charles Schwab had accused me of trying to kill him. His claim was supposedly based upon an innocuous letter I had written him some six months prior in which I had pleaded that he stop harassing Kim Haines. Given the lack of any basis for such an accusation, plus the evidence and potential charges against him, I find it very difficult to believe that Schwab would expose himself to yet another felony charge by falsely accusing me of attempted murder. Given what the FBI already knew about Schwab’s illegal activities, I find it improbable that they would take his accusations seriously. Indeed, based upon the demeanor of the FBI agents who interrogated me, they did not take Schwab’s accusations seriously.

During my interrogation I was asked if I feared being killed. I have yet to decide whether this was a warning of imminent danger or a threat. This bomb hoax and Schwab’s accusations were based upon knowledge of my plans to visit California, which could only be learned from my emails. So the question is: Was it Charles Schwab or the US Government that was hacking my computer? Given Schwab’s already existing exposure to felony charges, I find it doubtful he would take such a risk. However, given The White House propensity to eavesdrop on American citizens, I will assume they were hacking my computer. I can only imagine the difficulties I might have faced had I not cancelled my plans to visit California. Each time I turn on my computer, I assume that the US Government is still intercepting my email and is aware of all my activities.

About one year after I filed charges against Charles Schwab for computer hacking, among other things, I one day discovered that all of the documents in my computer’s “Charles Schwab” folder had been destroyed. However, my remaining folders were not damaged. At the time, I found it quite unbelievable that Schwab had the audacity to continue hacking into my computer and risk being caught by the FBI. Today I realize that it probably was not Schwab doing the hacking and destroying my documents, but the US Government.

Given the abundant evidence that supports my allegations against Schwab, plus the scrutiny by The White House and leaders in Congress, I highly doubt that he would repeatedly expose himself by engaging in the felonious behavior I have described. However, I do feel he would be a willing participant in a Bush Administration conspiracy to protect himself from our system of justice.

On May 5, 2005 I wrote to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales with yet another request that he investigate my allegations against Charles Schwab and bring him to justice. I received a response from George Handley of the DOJ on September 19, 2005 in which he informed me that my previous letters were being forwarded to the Portland FBI office. This would not guarantee a criminal investigation would be initiated; this would be left to the discretion of the field office and the US Attorney General. This was three years after I first filed complaints about Charles Schwab’s illegal activities with the Portland FBI office and we were back to where we started. Neither the Portland FBI office nor the Attorney General’s office has contacted me since. And as you know, Attorney General Gonzales has since resigned.

In January of 2008, I wrote to Bush’s new Attorney General, Michael Mukasy, and requested that he investigate my allegations against Charles Schwab. In March of 2008 I followed up with a letter to President Bush requesting the status of my complaints against Schwab. I copied leaders of the US Congress on both these letters. However, I have not received any response.

Given the seriousness of my allegations against Charles Schwab, the unlikely activities I have discussed above, and the lack of any response from the US Government, I believe the Bush Administration has engaged in an ongoing conspiracy to protect Schwab from our system of justice. This belief is bolstered when I hear that Bush refuses to provide White House records, as required by law, and that Karl Rove suddenly discovers that he lost four years worth of emails, which happens to cover the period of my efforts to bring Schwab to justice.

Once more I am requesting that the US Government investigate my allegations against Charles Schwab and bring him to justice. By engaging in this battle with the US Government, I realize that I am risking my life. However, the type of suffering Schwab caused my fiancee and me, followed by the ongoing efforts of the US Government to protect him, does not leave a man of character any alternatives. The person in the most danger is Kim Haines, for she would be the star witness in any proceedings against Charles Schwab. I hope you will do everything in your power to protect her.

    Congratulations on becoming our US Attorney General. I am hoping that one of your top priorities will be to initiate an investigation into my longstanding allegations against Mr. Charles Schwab for his crimes against the US Government, Mrs. Kim Doheney, and me. Though I first reported Mr. Schwab’s crimes in August of 2002, the US Government has joined Schwab in an ongoing conspiracy to cover up his crimes and protect him from our system of justice. This conspiracy involves deliberate lying to the FBI about his relationship with Ms. Kim Haines (now Mrs. Kim Doheny) and falsely accusing me through the FBI of trying to kill him. Details are covered in my previous letters and on my web site, referenced below.
     As Senator Robert Byrd writes in his book, “Losing America,” the corporate world owns and controls the US Government’s elected officials who no longer represent the American people. He describes in detail how this was achieved, so I will not elaborate here. The US Government has entered a self-destruct mode from which it probably will not survive. The days of petty political game playing for bucks will soon be over and we will be fighting to save an economic system based purely upon consumerism and military power.
     It is time for members of congress to stop their political infighting and join in a major revolt against the corporations and lobbyists and take back our country. The first step must be to provide a political system whereby candidates do not survive or fail based upon support and money from corporations and wealthy men, but because of their character, value systems, and interest in the welfare of the American people and our country. Until then, the idea of democracy in the US is nothing but a farce.
    US corporations are out of control and couldn't care less about the safety and well being of the American people. The most serious example is the US Government’s lack of control over the reckless sale and distribution of dangerous prescription and over the counter drugs. At the recent ceremonies at the Kennedy Center, which was attended by President and First Lady Bush, each commercial break brought viewers glamorous deceptive ads for Plavix, the new rage in blood thinners. Despite its popularity among doctors, the Worst Pills Organization, which maintains a web site for medications, discusses the toxic dangers of Plavix and advises against taking it. Instead, they advise taking only common aspirin. Likewise, in their newsletter the AARP advises subscribers to avoid Plavix and take only aspirin. Other studies also indicate the dangers of Plavix. The literature for the cheaper predecessor of Plavix advises that it should be taken only by those who cannot tolerate aspirin. So why doesn’t the US Government protect Americans from worthless dangerous drugs like Plavix? Because our representatives in congress know they can’t survive without the support of corporations that make billions of dollars selling this stuff.     Corporations and rich men also control the US Government’s Judiciary branch. Only observe the current scandal over US Attorneys who are hired and fired based upon the political agenda of the US president. How about the attorneys in the current scandal who claim they were fired because they were going after some prominent Republican? Could one of these have been Charles Schwab? Our judicial system has become just another political arm of the White House.
    In January of 2007 I wrote to our newly elected House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi requesting that she initiate an investigation into my allegations against Charles Schwab. Though I copied President Bush, leaders of the US Congress, and many others in Congress, not one person bothered to even acknowledge receipt of my letter. In March of 2007 I wrote President Bush and enquired about the status of my complaints against Charles Schwab. He did not bother to even acknowledge receipt of my letter. The US Government has reacted to my complaints about billionaire Schwab by pretending that I do not exist. I am not special, for this is the same attitude that the US Government has toward most Americans. The only thing preventing mass demonstrations is the lack of an independent media.
   In my case, the media corporations are part of the conspiracy to protect Charles Schwab. Though I have written to most major media outlets and provided evidence to support my allegations against Schwab, the editors have not shown any interest. Over the years I have contacted many individual journalists, inquiring about possible interest in investigating or reporting my story.
There was no response until July of 2007 when photojournalist, Tim King of Salem-News responded and subsequently published two stories and a video, which he also put up on Google News. You can find one of these stories at the following web site:

In his letter of Feb 3, 2003, Mr. Delaplaine says that I was advised by the FBI, the SEC, and the Lane County District Attorney, that some proof of my allegations would be required before an investigation could be initiated. This is all very interesting and smells of a conspiracy to protect Charles Schwab from our system of justice.
In August of 2002, when I called the Lane County DA’s office to report Charles Schwab’s crimes, I was told that they did not handle this type of case. That was the extent of their involvement. Neither the DA, nor anyone from his office ever talked with me about my allegations against Charles Schwab.

Neither have I ever talked with anyone from the SEC. Though I filed charges against Charles Schwab with them, they advised me that their work is private and they do not provide information about their investigations or the results. No one from the SEC ever called or met with me to ask for evidence to support my allegations against Charles Schwab.

Also of interest: In his 2005 letter to me relative to another matter, out of nowhere Eugene Police Chief, Robert Lehner, brings up the Charles Schwab case and advises me that I had not provided sufficient evidence. This is very interesting, for I had never talked with Mr. Lehner, nor anyone else from the Eugene Police Department about my allegations against Charles Schwab. In fact, just as with the DA’s office, when I called the Eugene Police Department in August of 2002, I was told that they were not capable of handling such problems.

This claim of “insufficient evidence” originated with FBI Agent Paul Mueller of the Portland FBI office. Though I had provided him with what I considered very adequate evidence to support my allegations against Charles Schwab, and though he had initially showed interest in pursuing the case, he suddenly backed off and advised me that I had not provided sufficient evidence. In order for him to pursue the case, I would have to provide the emails that Charles Schwab had stolen from me—something so ridiculous I am certain it did not originate with Agent Mueller. The verbal claims and piles of letters from the person who claimed Schwab was hacking into my computer, stealing my emails, and providing them to her was somehow not sufficient. No one from the Portland FBI office ever met with me, nor did they express interest in fact finding or other evidence. Though they said they were capable of evaluating my computer’s hard drive for hacking activity, they did not want to look at mine.

What I learned in August of 2003 was that Charles Schwab and Kim Haines claimed to the FBI that they did not know one another. This is what probably ended the investigation. Did this idea originate with Charles Schwab? Or did it originate in the US Attorney General’s office? Inasmuch as I had provided Agent Mueller dozens of documents supporting my allegations, it is obvious that he was ignoring these obvious lies.

To me, this all smells of a conspiracy by the Bush Administration, and specifically by the US Attorney General’s office, to protect Charles Schwab from our system of justice. I hope this helps in your efforts to expose the Bush Administration’s influence and controls over the US Department of Justice. I think it quite clear that they have been preventing US Attorneys from investigation their wealthy supporters like Charles Schwab.

      Congratulations on your new role as Speaker of the House and for the Democratic Party’s takeover of the US Congress. The fog is clearing for most Americans who are hopeful that the Democratic Party might change the direction of our country. What they crave most is a government that will represent their interests and work to assure their welfare. However, most people I talk with are pessimistic. Americans are becoming aware that both parties have abandoned them and now work full time to enhance the riches of the wealthy class and corporations. It might not be so bad were we not falling far behind the EU countries where the availability and quality of all social programs far exceeds that of the US—all at lower costs.
      Though deregulation and globalization sound great, the theories are incomplete and the process is flawed. Capitalism has built-in dynamics that, when left uncontrolled, bring about its own collapse. This is why most countries control their version of capitalism very carefully. The result: Corporations like Microsoft and GE cannot be arrogant while doing business in the EU countries, as they are in the US. This is a cultural difference whereby EU government, corporations, and CEO's are dedicated to the welfare of the people, not the demands of investors on Wall Street.
     Really, in the past six years, can anyone name one thing the US Government has done for the American people? The best I can think of is our drug program, which is a national disgrace because, instead of making life better for Americans, it attempts to distribute government money evenly to multiple drug companies. I defy anyone of normal intelligence to make sense of this national puzzle. The scenes at the pharmacies are very telling. I saw one elderly woman break down and cry when the pharmacist told her the cost of her new medications, which she would probably be better off without anyway. It’s all about marketing and doctor fears of lawsuits.
     The health insurance and healthcare systems in the US are a national disgrace. Availability and quality of healthcare is amongst the worst in the world. The most important business before our government is the need for a national healthcare program similar to that of EU countries. Take our healthcare out of the hands of the businesspersons and put it in the hands of our elected representatives, who we can kick out of office if they are not doing their jobs. Most doctors today work for their own, or some other business, where making money for the company is the main goal. In the EU countries, doctors and pharmacists work for the people—through their elected officials. If those in charge fail to perform, the people can kick them out. In the US, the business owners or stockholders are in control of our healthcare. This creates a very different environment for the healthcare providers and their patients. Those who like to disparage “socialized medicine” are simply unaware of the facts, for by all measures the quality of healthcare in most modern countries is far better than that of the US, and at a much lower cost.
      Please start protecting us from healthcare products that are dangerous to our health. Of primary concern is the advertising and sale of drugs and treatments that have not been fully tested and are approved by the FDA, often based upon phony studies, and with known hazards. Can anyone tell me why it’s ok to sell a drug that can cause liver failure or death, provided these dangers are listed in tiny print on the warning label? What this means is that it is the patients’ responsibility to protect themselves from bad products. The most dangerous drugs on the market are those for “psychiatric” problems. These drugs are known to cause permanent brain damage, hostile behavior, and sometimes suicide. Yet we dish them out indiscriminately—mostly to kids who are deemed “unruly.” It has nothing to do with mental illness.

The real purpose of this letter was to address my concerns about the US Government’s reluctance to investigate my allegations against Mr Charles Schwab. My case has been before the Bush Administration and leaders of US Congress since August of 2002, when I first reported Mr Schwab’s illegal activities. Though I received a cordial letter from The White House staff indicating that our president was referring my concerns to the US Department of Justice, it has remained in limbo ever since. In September of 2005, I did receive a letter from Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales’ office, indicating the case was being reviewed. However, time passes and nothing happens. No one has ever initiated a discussion with me regarding this case—except when Mr Schwab accused me of trying to kill him.
Given the seriousness of my allegations, and the supporting evidence I have provided, it is my perception that the Bush Administration and/or others in the US Government have deliberately protected Mr Schwab from our system of justice. Martha Stewart, a Democrat, fibbed about a tip from her broker, which is standard practice on Wall Street, and quickly got six months in jail. President Clinton fibbed about his sex life, which is no else’s business, and the Republicans spent millions trying to bring him down and trying to impeach him. Charles Schwab, a Republican and Bush favorite, committed some very serious crimes, but after four and a half years of “review,” he is still a free man.

Mr Schwab hacked my computers, stole my emails, destroyed files, and spied on me. He shared my emails with Ms Kim Haines, more recently, Mrs Kim Doheny. Ms Haines discussed Schwab’s illegal activities with me in person and via emails, all of which I provided to the US Government.

Conspiracy & Lying to the FBI

Since the FBI first started investigating my allegations against Mr Schwab, he and Ms Haines have conspired to deceive the US Government claiming they did not know one another. Indeed, Mr Schwab’s corporate attorneys wrote me twice and claimed the same thing. Because I had provided the FBI ample proof that these people do indeed know one another, prior to their ever talking with them, I question why they so easily accepted these false claims and discontinued their investigation. I believe this might be a deliberate cover-up by the US Government. I am attaching a recent email from Mrs Doheny, formerly, Ms Haines, in which she discusses Mr Schwab and her relationship with him.

Conspiracy to frame me for attempted murder

   In August of 2003, Mr Schwab and his good friend, Mr Keith Johnson of Fieldstone Homes, conspired to frame me for trying to kill him. They both told Ms Haines that I was trying to kill him by placing bombs on his properties. Mr Schwab then told the FBI the same thing. As part of their conspiracy, they also terrorized Ms Haines with death threats over the phone. Something is obviously wrong here: If Mr Schwab did not know Ms Haines, as he claimed to the FBI, how could he be telling her that I was trying to kill him? How was it that her boss was telling her the same thing? For not knowing one another, they were sure talking a lot.
    Very important: The discovery of Mr Schwab’s so-called bombs was made the very week that I had told friends, via email, that I would be visiting California, and specifically, the Pebble Beach/Carmel area, where the bombs were found. Mr Schwab was still into my computer and reading my emails—one year after I had reported his illegal activities to the Bush Administration and US Congressional leaders. Indeed, he felt he was above the law, perhaps for good reason.
   On August 21, 2003, the FBI interrogated me about Mr Schwab’s accusations. It was quite fortunate that I had canceled my travel plans and was not in California. Had Mr Schwab also been tapping my telephone, he would have known this. Just as I predicted with the FBI agents, these bombs turned out to be fakes.
   During our discussion about Mr Schwab’s bombs, FBI Agent, John Ferreira told me that Mr Schwab and Ms Haines had claimed they did not know one another. Mr Schwab also claimed he did not know who I was. When I told Mr Ferreira that I could easily prove they did know one another, he told me that the FBI was going to talk with Mr Schwab and Ms Haines again and if they were lying, they were going to jail. I doubt the FBI was allowed to follow through with this, for Mr Schwab and Ms Haines are still not in jail.

Questionable Financial Dealings

Mr Schwab’s financial dealings with Ms Haines were questionable and I suspect included insider trading, tax evasion, and certainly financial coercion/blackmail. I believe the handling of his loan to her, and his control over her stock account with his company, improper.

As Speaker of the House, I am requesting that you initiate a congressional investigation into my allegations against Mr Schwab. This will have a positive effect upon the American people who have lost faith in their government, and will provide a needed lesson to those of wealth and power who feel they can break the law with impunity.

   In August of 2002, when I first talked with Portland FBI Agent Paul Mueller about Charles Schwab’s illegal activities, I provided ample evidence to support my allegations. Though Mueller initially expressed interest in pursuing the case, he soon backed off. He offered a frivolous reason for discontinuing his investigation. Though he said his office had the means to analyze computer hard drives for hacker activities, when I offered him my computer’s hard drive to analyze, he showed no interest.
    Because I was not getting anywhere with local law enforcement people or the FBI, I decided to write to you for help. After presenting my case to you in June of 2003, your assistant wrote and told me that you had referred the case to the Department of Justice, which I assume meant Attorney General Ashcroft. After not receiving any feedback from the DOJ for many months, I wrote your assistant and requested information about the status of my case. A short while later I received a very short response from DOJ, summarily dismissing the case, again for frivolous reasons.
    I wrote several letters to John Ashcroft regarding this case, but did not receive any response from him. I also wrote to leaders in the US Congress and key committees, but only received a couple responses offering suggestions about how I might address my problem. I am not aware of any action by any level of government. Due to this lack of interest in my allegations against Charles Schwab, I have assumed from early on that Kim Haines was right when she told me that because of his wealth and power, no one in our government could touch her good friend Charles Schwab. Because of the evidence I provided our government, including many written statements by Kim Haines about his illegal activities, I have come to assume that you and your administration have been protecting Charles Schwab from our system of justice.
   Revelations about the firing of US Prosecutors for refusing to yield to political pressure from Karl Rove and others in your administration is very troubling. Knowing what I do about Charles Schwab’s illegal activities, I can only assume that he is among those protected by this informal influence over the Department of Justice.

Since filing my original allegations against Charles Schwab, he and/or the US Government have seriously compounded his problems. Schwab has conspired to deceive the US Government. He has lied to the FBI. He conspired to frame me and falsely accuse me of trying to kill him. He has denigrated my character with friends and US Government officials. Through his corporate attorneys, he has attempted to coerce me by threatening to sue me and hurt me financially if I continued to write to you or others in the US Government. Through these same corporate attorneys, he has characterized me as mentally ill and in need of therapy. I believe that Charles Schwab was also engaged in illegal financial dealings with Kim Haines, though I know that his power over her will preclude her ever willfully exposing his activities or the damage he has done.
If Charles Schwab could subject a commoner like me to this ongoing abuse, I think it safe to assume that he has spent his life operating in this manner and has damaged many others. If the US Government wants to do something good for the American people, quit protecting criminals like Charles Schwab and hold them accountable for their crimes. This will provide examples for other would-be wealthy criminals who currently feel they can break the law with impunity.

Once more, I am requesting your assistance in bringing Charles Schwab to justice. However, if you sincerely believe that he has done nothing wrong and your administration does not plan any action in this matter, I would appreciate being advised so in writing.

While being interrogated by your agents in August of 2003 about possible involvement with the “bombs” found on Mr. Schwab’s properties, Eugene FBI agent John Ferreira told me that both Charles Schwab and Kim Haines had told the FBI that they did not know one another. I told your agents that I had plenty of proof that they Schwab and Haines were lying. In the next couple days I provided Ferreira with a stack of documents that supported my allegations. He told me that lying to the FBI was a felony and that they were going to investigate further. If they could prove that Schwab and Haines were lying to them, they would go to jail. As we all know, there has been no effort to follow through with the investigation—probably because the Bush Administration is part of the effort to cover up a very messy situation—my opinion, of course.

Anyway, today at Costco, I met some old friends of (names deleted) who live nearby and who I had met with Kim several times. We talked about my former relationship and the circumstances surrounding her departure from Eugene. The Smiths said they knew Kim while she was engaged to Charles Schwab and indicated that he was a bad person. They were cautious in what they said, but indicated that he had treated Kim poorly. The reason I bring this ups is that here are two more people who can verify that that Charles Schwab and Kim Haines do indeed know one another.

Kim has many friends and family members who are aware of her former relationship with Schwab. She currently works for Keith Johnson who introduced her to Charles Schwab. Johnson lives a few houses down from Schwab’s mansion in San Diego, which he was in the process of selling the last time I visited there. They both have hunting ranches in Montana. Etc. As I’ve mentioned before, I have an email from Keith Johnson in which he mentions Kim’s relationship with Charles; another from her daughter who mentions Charles. All such documents were provided to the FBI long ago.

There is another man who can verify they know one another. After Kim and I had gone our separate ways, she became engaged to (name omitted). While they were living together, I one day received a call from Flagg. He complained about being constantly harassed by Charles Schwab and wanted to know about my experiences with Schwab. Besides calling everyday, as he had done with me, he said Schwab was on a campaign to denigrate his character and ruin his relationship with Kim. I said, welcome to the party. Indeed, it wasn’t long before Kim broke her engagement with Flagg and had him move out.

After Kim broke up with Flagg, she once more started dating Schwab, but once more it didn’t work. She always complained about how domineering and controlling he is. Kim was trying very hard to remove herself from Charles Schwab’s influence and control (my opinion) and was soon engaged to yet another man. They were soon married.
From the time we met, Kim’s financial and emotional relationship with Charles was very difficult for her. I got to know her very well and have never met anyone who was so full of anxiety and stress and on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I listened to her talk about Charles Schwab and what he was doing to her for about a year. I watched her cry and suffer in agony because of how, under his controls she had lost her family fortune—how he was blackmailing her into doing things against her will.

About six months ago Kim let me know that she had suffered a stroke. Several months later she let me know that she had suffered another stroke. She did not elaborate, so I do not know how badly this has affected her brain and her mind. However, in large part I blame her health problems on Charles Schwab and his several years of constant harassment and stalking this poor woman—even after I had reported his behavior to those who supposedly enforce our law. I will continue to do my best to bring this evil man to justice for what he did to this fine woman and me. As history has taught us over and over, all his wealth and fine mansions do not make him a good man, but to the contrary has destroyed any sense of morality, ethics, and caring for his fellow man. He deserves to rot in prison for his evil ways.
Kim is such a good woman that despite all the terrible things Charles Schwab has done to her, she still refers to him as her friend. Such is the way when we are dealing with the Gods—no matter how badly they’ve let us down, we still worship them.

Once again I have provided the FBI with the names of important people in Kim’s life who can verify that she and Charles went together and were once engaged. If President Bush will stand up for justice and allow you to go after Charles Schwab, I am certain that you can convict him. Besides his stalking and computer hacking, Charles Schwab had involved Kim Haines in some questionable stock dealings which I have previously discussed. Having heard much about what was going on relative to the Micron/Hynix takeover attempt I believe Schwab engaged in illegal activities.

The lost work time due to these activities must be astronomical.

If Mr. Schwab could so easily get into my two computers, plus that of my fiancee, Ms. Varian Haines, then he can get into other people’s computers just as easily. He can also invade the computers of businesses and our government. More frightening is the fact that if Mr. Schwab is engaging in this type activity, so are other rich and powerful people in our society who can afford these high level hackers.

When I first discovered that I had been stalked for so many months by Mr. Schwab, I talked with the local police who did not have the resources or expertise to pursue the matter. The District Attorney’s office told me that they only got involved with cases where a man is stalking a woman—not computer hacking. The Eugene FBI agent, Ferreira, said he had rules that prohibited him from pursuing cases that didn’t include the loss of $100k or more. The Portland FBI agent initially seemed interested, but soon backed off and told me they would not pursue it unless I provided the emails that Mr. Schwab had stolen from me. Of course he knew there was no way I would have these.

In August of 2002, I filed formal charges against Mr. Schwab with the FBI and the SEC. I did this online and through letters to them. The only acknowledgement was from the SEC who advised me that their work was “confidential” and that they could not advise me if they were going to pursue the matter or not. And if they did pursue it, they could not advise me of any action they might take. I wish I could have worked under such conditions while at IBM.

When the FBI and SEC didn’t show any interest, I wrote to Attorney General John Ashcroft, who did not reply. After a year or so, I wrote to Mr. Ashcroft again, but he still did not bother to acknowledge. All letters were sent special delivery which requires a receipt signature.

I then wrote to President George Bush requesting his help in bringing Mr. Schwab to justice. Though I received a cordial receipt from the White House, there was no follow-up and nothing ever came of it. I subsequently wrote to President Bush a number of times for which I did not receive any further acknowledgements. I came to conclude that our president was protecting Mr. Schwab, one of his greatest campaign contributors.

I also proceeded to write to members of congress and the governors of California, where Mr. Schwab lives and works, and Oregon where I live and would like protection. Though these people are supposedly the representatives of the citizens of our country, only one person ever bothered to acknowledge receipt of my letter. I have not perceived any other action relative to the matter.

My concern is that, though Mr. Schwab engaged in computer hacking, theft of personal property, lying to the FBI, and falsely accusing me of trying to kill him, our US and State Governments are afraid to even acknowledge that I have filed complaints against him, let alone admit there is a problem.

When I first told my then fiancée, Ms. Haines, that I was going to file charges against Mr. Schwab for his hacking activities, she told me that he was too wealthy and powerful and that no one in government would touch him. The several lawyers I talked with told me the same thing—that the government would not touch someone like Mr. Schwab because he was too rich and powerful, so I best forget about it.

If our government is going to ignore people like Mr. Schwab who are hacking into our computers, then they are probably doing the same with other wealthy hackers. So our concept of internet security is really nothing but a great farce. Each day that I sit down at my computer, I wonder if Mr. Schwab will soon be reading my emails or letters, such as I am writing to you now. Because of my experiences, I have no sense of privacy and am at the mercy of Mr. Schwab.

Should Mr. Schwab choose to sue me for talking with people in our government, I’ll be happy to meet him in court so I can tell the world about his illegal activities and how our government, starting with President Bush and Attorney General Ashcroft, ignored my complaints about Mr. Schwab and my requests for protection from him.

Recommendations for improving internet security:

1. The Bush Administration needs to demonstrate that it is serious about enforcing our laws. They should stop protecting Mr. Charles Schwab and instead make an effort to bring him to justice. I’ve been waiting now for two and a half years. I have provided ample evidence to support my allegations and I will be happy to cooperate.

2. Congress should form a committee to address our internet security problems. Internet viruses and hacking are costing our corporations and government an enormous amount of time and money due to lost time at work, lost data, and work disruption. It is also exposing many of us to identity theft, etc. A committee should assure current internet security laws are adequate and ensure that these laws are enforced and not ignored by our government. They should ensure that people are treated equally under the law.

3. Microsoft & other software developers should continue to improve internet security. And they should work with our government to make sure that hackers are brought to justice. Right now the serious hackers are operating with impunity. I know.

    From the last quarter of 2001 until around August of 2002, Mr. Charles Schwab hired computer wizards to engage in ongoing hacking of my computers. I am quite certain that he was into my computer destroying documents again in November of 2003 and could very well be with me today. I always work with my computer assuming he is monitoring my email and documents.

I repeated this process with technicians here in Eugene.

I know that software developers are continually working to keep up with the vulnerabilities in their software and to provide us with “firewalls” and virus protection. As we all know, laws that are not enforced are soon ignored and become meaningless. I can hardly imagine the hacking taking place among some of our most prominent citizens as they try to gain the edge on one another and snoop on employees and enemies. And what about our government computers, and those used at home by government workers?

If I can’t talk to those who make and enforce our laws, then our country is in very bad shape indeed. I will not go to my grave knowing that out of fear I neglected to try to bring Mr. Schwab to justice.

Dear Senator Kerry,

In the past couple years I’ve learned a lot about our constitution and government that I could never have learned in school. What seems very clear is that the Neoconservatives and Bush administration have introduced us to a new interpretation of our US Constitution—one that deals harshly with their political enemies, but protects their friends and supporters.

When the Neoconservatives worked all out to put President Clinton in an unprecedented position where he was forced to lie to the public about his sex life, they were quick to attack full force. They were so eager to destroy the man that they paid Ken Star some $64 million of tax payer’s money to investigate President Clinton and tried to impeach him. It was such a farce that I recall the French announcing that the United States had become the laughing stock of the world for what they were doing to their president.

The Neoconservatives and President Bush feel very differently about their own circle of friends and supporters. Since August of 2002, I have filed charges and written many letters to President Bush and others about the illegal activities of Mr. Charles Schwab. Yet I have not detected the slightest interest in bringing Mr. Schwab to justice.
In August of 2003, a year after my initial complaint against Mr. Schwab, I received a letter from the Charles Schwab Corporate attorney claiming that Mr. Schwab did not know Ms. Haines, his former business partner and fiancée (according to her.) He also claimed to not know me. Both claims are bare faced lies and easily proved.
In August of 2203 Mr. Schwab then falsely reported to the FBI that I had tried to kill him by placing bombs on his properties. Though the FBI had shown very little interest in my claims against Mr. Schwab for his many months of stalking and hacking into my computer, they were quick to interrogate me about these so-called bombs.

During my interviews with the FBI relative to Mr. Schwab’s accusations about the bombs, I took the opportunity to discuss my former allegations against Mr. Schwab. I again provided the FBI many documents to support my claims. The FBI told me they were going to check into it, but when they got back a few days later, they told me that Mr. Schwab and Ms. Haines both claimed to not know one another. More bare faced lies. When I provided piles of documents that proved without doubt that they were both lying in order to cover their many months of stealing my email, the agents told me that if they could prove they had been lying to the FBI that they would both go to jail. The FBI has never gotten back with me and neither Mr. Schwab nor Ms. Haines are in jail.

But please note: Martha Stewart who told a fib about a tip from her broker, something that is done thousands of times everyday on Wall Street, was drug through the mire, tried, and convicted. Compared to Mr. Schwab’s crimes against me, Martha Stewart’s crimes are trivial child’s play. However, as we all know, Martha Stewart is a Democrat and Charles Schwab is a Republican and very large financial contributor to President Bush and the Neoconservative causes.

President Bush and his staff are not the only ones to ignore Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities. I have written to the majority and minority leaders of both houses of congress. I did not receive a response. I have written twice to the Senate Judiciary Committee. They have not responded. I have written to Attorney General John Ashcroft. He has shown no interest. I have written two or more letters to FBI Director Mueller, but he didn’t bother to respond. I have written to SEC Chairman Donaldson, but he has not responded. The only conclusion I can draw is that wealthy people like Mr. Schwab are beyond the law.

As a US Senator and presidential candidate, I am seeking your assistance in having Congress investigate the Bush administration’s lack of response to my reports of a crime committed against me by another US citizen.

I am sure you are aware that my efforts through the FBI and SEC to bring Mr. Charles Schwab to justice have failed. Of course, I wouldn’t know for sure because no one has bothered to discuss the matter with me. The SEC’s rules about not disclosing their activities, or the results of their investigations, is interesting indeed. I have no idea of what action, if any, you have taken against Mr. Schwab.

Given the severity of Mr. Schwab’s alleged crimes, and the fact not one person has contacted me other than to write and say the case was being referred to someone in the DOJ, I can only conclude that President George Bush, the FBI, and the SEC are ignoring my allegations and protecting Mr. Schwab. Of course, this is because Mr. Schwab is such a heavy contributor to President Bush and the Republican party. Our country is not a democracy, but an oligarchy, for which Mr. Schwab is a key player.

After my August 2002 initial letter to President Bush about Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities, the initial response from the White House was cordial and encouraging. However, the results were quite pathetic. After many months of not hearing from anyone in government, I wrote to the White House staff and asked the status. I subsequently received a two sentence letter, written the day the very day my letter was received by the White House, basically dismissing and closing the issue. When I responded with a second letter to President Bush, the case was again referred, this time to someone else. And so it has gone through several subsequent attempts. The last letter I received from someone in the DOJ, I was advised that my case was being referred back to the Portland FBI office, where I started. The Karl Rove strategy: Keep passing it around in circles, make the guy dizzy, he’s old and might die pretty soon, the election will be over… ignore it long enough and hope it goes away.

Because the more recent events of August 2003, which involving bomb hoaxes and death threats, I am once more requesting that you have the SEC investigate my allegations against Mr. Schwab. I won’t go into detail here, for these are outlined in the attached letters to Mr. Schwab and the Charles Schwab Corporation board of directors. I have also written numerous letters to the FBI which I haven’t included here. In my judgment, Mr. Schwab belongs in jail. Based upon what I’ve learned about the man, and what I know he has done to my former fiancé and me for a year and a half, he makes the alleged crimes of Martha Stewart nothing but kid’s play. Mr. Schwab has harassed, stalked, and manipulated Ms. Varian (Kim) Haines until she has become a distraught and ruined woman. Since our earliest days together, she has told me about Mr. Schwab’s harassment and stalking. I have been with her numerous times when he has called to harass her—sometimes early in the morning before we were out of bed. She has told me that because of his wealth and connections to the Bush Administration, no one would ever go after him. Even after she broke down and confessed that he had been hacking into my computer for months, and sharing all my personal mail with others, she insisted that there was nothing I could do about it.

Well, Ms. Haines was much more worldly and wise than me, for after a year and a half of putting up with Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities, our government has done nothing.
The most blatant example of how Mr. Schwab can break the law with impunity was orchestrated by him. In order to protect himself from government scrutiny, he chose to make me out to be a nutcase. In a letter from his corporate attorney, Mr. Schwab claimed that he did not know Ms. Haines or me. Seven months later, he pulled off a bomb hoax and implicated me in the plot to the FBI. He then had Ms. Haines claim to the FBI that she did not know him. In August of 2003, the FBI agents told me that if they could prove these two were lying, they would go to jail.

This is almost laughable. Mr. Keith Johnson of Fieldstone Homes in San Diego, for whom Ms. Haines works, is a personal friend of Mr. Schwab’s, and is the man that introduced her to Mr. Schwab. Ms. Haines always talked about the closeness of the Haines and Schwab families. After writing to Mr. Johnson last August asking his help in stopping Mr. Schwab’s harassment of Ms. Haines, he responded with an email in which he discussed her relationship with his good friend, Charles. While she was living with me, Ms. Haines went on several business trips with Mr. Schwab in his corporate jet to meetings in New York City between the Micron and Hynix corporations. I have emails from her while flying in Mr. Schwab’s jet. For these meetings, she would drive to Portland, where he would pick her up. They also flew together several times to Boise where they met with Mr. Steve Appleton, CEO of Micron. She told me many times that Mr. Schwab was her personal broker and handled all trades in her portfolio. Problematic for her was that, after she became default for a lone he had made her so she could buy more stock in Micron, it then collapsed, allowing him to gain control of her portfolio. According to her he then had full control of her money. She has since told me that they came to some type settlement, but I think this a lie.

Most tragic has been his financial controls, to control her life. Please refer to the attached letters.
Given this background, which was included in my original complaints against Mr. Schwab, and which I again rehashed with the FBI in August of 2003, providing them many documents to support my allegations, how is it possible to ignore Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities, and at least recognize that he and Ms. Haines have been lying to the FBI? And if they are lying, how is it possible they are not being brought to justice?

Because I am fully aware of how Mr. Schwab has continually harassed, stalked, and controlled Ms. Haines’ life through financial means, I do not hold her responsible for what she has done. She is a broken woman, both financially and emotionally. She told me many times that she had to go along with his wishes, “…just let me handle this….” she said many times. She was worried about losing more money; she was worried about hers and my lives. If it becomes necessary, I will stand up for her and let the world know how terribly Mr. Charles Schwab treated her for several years—while our government knowingly stood by and did nothing.

Once more, I am requesting that the SEC investigate Mr. Schwab and bring him to justice for what he has done to Ms. Haines and me.

In the past few weeks, my Norton Internet Security software has let me know that there have been numerous attempts to invade my computer. At least one virus made it into my computer’s system. This has happened numerous times in the past couple years.
A few days ago, I discovered evidence that indicates my computer had once more been hacked into, and files damaged. Interestingly, the only folder and files that were damaged were those related to case against Mr. Charles Schwab. Of the dozens of letters I have written to him, President Bush, and others in government, none could be opened with MS Word, in which they were created. However, none of the hundreds of other documents on my computer were affected—that I know of. They still opened normally with MS Word. Thus, I must conclude that Mr. Schwab continues to have people hacking into my computer on a regular basis. This has now gone on for over two years.

After becoming involved with Mr. Schwab’s former fiancée, Ms. Varian (Kim) Haines, she advised me numerous times about Schwab’s ongoing harassment and stalking of her and any man she might date. After becoming engaged to be married and while living together, she confided in me that Schwab had been hacking into my computer and stealing my emails for many months. She later documented her concerns with his illegal activities in numerous emails to me. Schwab also seems to know an awful lot about my personal life, which causes me to assume that he had Trojan Horses inside my computer and access to everything on my computer. The evidence is very clear.

Schwab’s hacking into my computers has caused them to crash many times. Each time I work with the techs at Microsoft, local technicians, or computer security experts, the feedback is the same: It appears that someone has hacked into your computer. This results in my having to reformat the hard drive, reinstall Windows, and reinstall all my other software—something that takes many hours. Never in my many years of experience with computers, starting at my work with IBM, have I experienced such disastrous results from computers.

Not too long ago, I received a phone call from Kim’s fiancé, Mr. Tom Flagg, whom she was to marry this past December. Flagg complained to me about Schwab’s ongoing harassment of him and Kim. He said that Schwab was constantly denigrating his character to Kim and often called while he was at her place. This caused her to become angry and sometimes slam the phone down on Schwab. Flagg expressed lots of empathy for what I had been through with Kim and Schwab and requested information about the complaints I had filed against Schwab. He asked for copies, which I provided. After that we exchanged a few emails.

Just as with Kim and me, once more Schwab was successful in destroying an attempt by Kim to have a relationship and become married. The stress levels became so high that, rather than becoming married, she broke up with Flagg on Christmas day and had him move out. As in my case, which she lamented about for many months, I suspect that Schwab blackmailed her into breaking up with Flagg. As I have explained many times to deaf ears, he does this through his controls over her finances.

When I first met Kim, she told me that Schwab was obsessed about having her back and that he would stop at nothing. Indeed, I have learned the hard way that she was right. He will hound this poor woman until she old and helpless and finally agrees to move into the retirement mansion he built for them at Pebble Beach, California.

All this is very interesting, for, as you know, Schwab and Kim have told the FBI that they don’t even know one another. I have a letter from Schwab’s top corporate attorney in which he claims he doesn’t know Kim or me. And they both make me out to be some nut case who is harassing them. Indeed, could anything be more stupid than Schwab’s trying to frame me by placing a couple phony bombs near his properties in Carmel and then telling the FBI he thought I did it? Though the FBI has sufficient evidence to prove they are both lying, they refuse to investigate and prosecute—because of Schwab’s special relationships with President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and others in government. As we all learned in our studies of history, money is what counts.

During our time together, Kim let me know that if I ever did anything to interfere with Schwab’s harassment or illegal activities, he would have his people come after me. You will see in the attached email from her that she believes in this type response to problems, and has now made threats of her own. Her threat came after she learned that Flagg and I were talking about our similar problems with Schwab. I have no idea what Flagg told her.
I fully believe that most of Kim’s behavior relative to Schwab is due to fear of this man. If you’ve read my last two letters to President Bush, you will know that she has feared for her life, should she cross him. She even fears him due to the fact that she betrayed his trust and told me about his computer hacking activities. She is the witness that would count most and he knows it. During our time together, I learned of his blackmailing her several times.

Who knows who? While talking with Flagg, I told him that Kim and Schwab both claimed to the FBI that they didn’t know one another. This was their way of protecting Schwab from prosecution. Flagg told me that they certainly did know one another because she told him all about Charles Schwab and the problems he caused her. As I mentioned before, he also talked about Schwab’s frequent phone calls while he was in the room with her. I have mentioned many times before that while Kim was living with me, Schwab was constantly calling and upsetting Kim.

As you know, I have written to Schwab and requested that he stop harassing and stalking Kim and me. I also requested that he stop hacking into my computer. As you know, I have filed complaints against Schwab with the FBI and the SEC, and have written to Attorney General John Ashcroft, President George Bush, and numerous others in the US Government. However, there is this huge silence and lack of response—in hopes the problem will just go away.

I’m sure you also know that because of Schwab’s wealth and heavy contributions to the campaigns of President Bush and others, that he can break the law with impunity and there is nothing I can do about it. He’s only one of our powerful rich men who make their own rules and influence our government.

I am once more requesting that you investigate and prosecute Charles Schwab for his illegal activities. I feel this is very important because someone is likely to become hurt or killed. I am old and don’t worry much about dying, but I am very worried about Kim, who Schwab has tortured for the past three or four years. I have stood by while she has suffered what appeared to be total emotional breakdowns because of Schwab’s harassment and blackmail. I have heard her crying on the phone about being afraid she was going to be killed. I have heard her ask that I be sure to tell her oldest son what happened to her. Just how much damage, injury, or death must Charles Schwab cause before you and President Bush decide to stop him.

Because I feel that Schwab is perfectly capable of having Kim or I killed, I have spent the past year preparing for such an event. I have written the story about Kim’s and my life together, and the constant harassment and stalking by Charles Schwab. I have included all my letters to our government and others relative to the case. I have provided these to several entities. Should anything happen to either Kim or me, our story will quickly hit the internet for the world to see. They will soon learn how our government stood by and did nothing, while Charles Schwab caused great harm to others and broke the law with impunity.

I urge you to proceed with a full investigation of Schwab, in which I will provide any documents or information you would like. However, as is more likely the case, if you and President Bush are still afraid to go after Charles Schwab because of his wealth and power, please at least go to him and request that he stop harassing and stalking Kim and hacking into my computer. We are both sick of his depraved activities and would like some peace.

Letters to President Bush and others

Last August I filed complaints with the FBI and the SEC about Mr. Schwab’s stalking and computer hacking activities, as well as what I perceived to be insider trading activities.
The FBI let me know they are not interested—unless I had lost $100,000 or more, or if I could show them copies of the email Mr. Schwab had stolen. Of course, they know this would be impossible. Sort of like the police telling me to prove I had been robbed by showing them the money that had been stolen?

    My information about Mr. Schwab’s stalking and computer hacking activities comes from his former fiancée, Ms. Varian Haines. And based upon her stated knowledge of my private mail, I am 100% certain she was receiving my email from Mr. Schwab for many months. However, due to her fears of Mr. Schwab, she has refused to allow me to see these, and more recently told me she destroyed them. She has stated however that she is willing to talk to the FBI about what happened, but says they have never called her.
My letters to President Bush, Attorney General Ashcroft, and members of congress since last August have resulted in two short letters from the US Department of Justice in which they cleverly try to change my allegations and dismiss the issues. Despite the serious allegations, no one has even bothered to communicate with me about the matter.
Regarding information I provided the SEC about Mr. Schwab’s insider trading, I do not understand how anyone in congress can accept the rules they operate under. These rules are simple: After someone files a complaint against someone like Mr. Schwab, the SEC will only acknowledge they have received the complaint, but no more. They will not disclose whether or not they plan to investigate the allegations, any progress they might make, or what the final results conclusions might be. How easy then for someone of Mr. Schwab’s status to have his friends at the SEC quietly file the case and forget about it.
    I am having a great problem understanding our system of justice. If a poor person steals a loaf of bread or pair of jeans from a store, he will soon find himself in trouble. If he repeats the offense, in some states he will find himself faced with a long prison sentence. However, if someone of Mr. Schwab’s stature is known to have been hacking into someone’s computer and stealing their mail for many months, our president and other top leaders in our country simply turn their backs and ignore it—and hope it doesn’t become public knowledge—especially before an election. Something is terribly wrong with a system that allows powerful people like Mr. Schwab to break the law with impunity.
If Mr. Schwab was/is hacking into my computer for many months and getting away with it, he and people like him are doing the same with many other people’s computers. And simple firewalls do not stop serious hackers. So in our country, the internet is causing a serious threat to our privacy. I doubt that you, as Senators, can use your email and be 100% certain people like Mr. Schwab are not having your computers hacked into and reading your mail.
    As a resident of Oregon, I am turning to both of you to investigate Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities. And I urge you to bring about a change in the rules which govern the FBI and SEC who have all but ignored my very serious complaints. I believe that anyone filing a complaint against some person or company should at least know if the SEC will be investigating that complaint. I also feel that feedback as to the findings is in order. What better way to encourage people to report suspected illegal activities and put a stop to this crime.

Congratulations on becoming head of the Securities Exchange Commission, a daunting task during these troubled times. Based upon what I have read, you are up to the task, and I hope your efforts will result in renewed faith and trust in the corporate world. After reading about your qualifications and sincerity, I decided to bring to your attention a problem I have been dealing with the past year and a half.

You might be aware that since August 2002 I have filed complaints about Mr. Charles Schwab with the FBI and SEC. I have also written several letters to President Bush, Attorney General John Ashcroft, and others. Although I feel Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities were quite serious, I do not get the sense that my government supports me in my efforts to bring him to justice. As Ms. Haines has told me many times, I am wasting my time, for given Mr. Schwab’s wealth and power, no one is going to try to bring him to justice.

Without rehashing the issues here, I am instead attaching my previous letters and responses, in hopes you might pursue an investigation into Mr. Schwab’s activities—as they have affected me and my fiancée, Ms. Varian (Kim) Haines. I believe his activities and use of Ms. Haines relative to the attempted purchase of Hynix by Micron Corporation is worthy of investigation.

Though I have already provided the Portland FBI office and Attorney General John Ashcroft numerous letters from Ms. Haines, in which she discusses Mr. Schwab’s hacking activities, I am attaching a recent letter in which she once more discusses these activities and how Mr. Schwab destroyed our relationship through his computer hacking and financial pressure. In her letter she refers to Mr. Schwab as Charles.

I am willing to discuss these allegations with anyone who is interested. I have hard disk backups of our computers that were subjected to bugging by Mr. Schwab’s people.

    After being subjected to many months of ongoing harassment and stalking activities by Mr. Charles , I have been totally disappointed by the lack of interest in these activities by all levels of our government.
    While being engaged and living with Ms. Varian Haines, a prominent business woman who’s family founded the Varian Corporation, she repeatedly told me verbally and in emails about the stalking and computer activities of her former fience, Mr. Charles Schwab. She repeatedly told me about his stealing my email and sharing them with her. Because of these illegal activities, I decided to file complaints against Mr. Schwab. However, it seems we have a government that turns its back on powerful figures like Mr. Schwab and other corporate leaders, who seem to break the law with impunity.
    After my repeated complaints to the local FBI, the SEC, Attorney General John Ashcroft, and President George Bush, I recently received a simple letter from DOJ which basically tells me it is my job to investigate Mr. Schwab’s illegal activities and provide them evidence that proves these activities. I wonder if they would have the same response if I told them I thought there was a “terrorist” living in my neighborhood. Or if I called them and said I thought someone was selling marijuana or cocaine at a house nearby.
At the time of this letter, I have not yet received any response to my latest letters to President Bush or the senate leadership.

As you will see in the attached letters, I have been seeking help in dealing with the illegal stalking activities of Mr. Charles Schwab, founder and CEO of Charles Schwab Corporation. When I initially learned of Schwab’s stalking activities, which primarily involved hacking into my computer, stealing my email, and sharing these with others, I thought I had reason for our law enforcement agencies to take action and investigate. But, as my wise business friends and a couple lawyers have advised, it is next to impossible to bring powerful people like Charles Schwab to justice.
Relative to my many letters to President Bush, et al, the only response I have received was from the SEC in which I was told they had received my letter, but would not provide any feedback as to whether they might investigate, or what the status of such an investigation might be. Can it be that our system of government chooses to simply turn its back when people like Schwab break the law? Might this be why our corporations are full of corrupt and arrogant people? Only by the time someone has been hurt financially does it seem to matter.
I am turning to you and the Judiciary Committee in hopes you can investigate Schwab’s illegal activities and assure we have laws in place that protect common citizens like me from this type illegal activities. I am sure that if I were stalking Schwab and hacking into his computers, our law enforcement people would take immediate action and I would soon be arrested. Such is our dual legal system.
Schwab’s illegal activities involve financial foul play and stalking of Ms. Varian (Kim) Haines, a widow and former business associate and fiancée of Mr. Charles Schwab. His activities also involve stalking and hacking into my computer. She is currently in process of bringing a lawsuit against Schwab and he’s already been served. I believe this fertile grounds for the SEC and might help us clean up the corruption that exists at the top corporate levels of so many companies.

I will not take the time to reiterate what Ms. Haines and I have been through, but will refer you to the attached letters in which I discuss these things.
It is quite obvious that if Mr. Schwab can get away with hacking into my computer and/or otherwise have access to my email, etc., he and people like him are doing this with many other private citizens and businesses who are unaware. If the response to reports of such activities is similar to the cold responses I have received, I understand why powerful people like Mr. Schwab feel they can break the law with impunity. I believe it is time that congress takes action to stop this type activity and to change the perception that the rich and powerful are immune to our laws.
Please note that my information relative to Charles Schwab’s activities is based upon information from Ms. Varian Haines. In my efforts to make sure my letters reached President George Bush and Attorney General John Ashcroft, they were sent Certified Mail which means that they or someone in their office must sign a receipt for the letter. It was only after a recent discussion with my uncle, Burton Pierce of Springfield that I decided to bring this matter to your attention. I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that my uncle recently became very ill due to heart attack and stroke and at this time his future appears quite uncertain. However, the last time we spoke he was quite proud as he let me know that he knew you.
The concern I would like to bring to your attention is outlined in the enclosed letter to President George Bush, so I will not elaborate on the matter here. My information about what I feel is Mr.Schwab’s illegal activities is based primarily upon verbal and documented information from Ms.Varian Haines, and my witnessing the turmoil she has endured due to Mr.Charles Schwab’s ongoing harassment and stalking activities. Besides the affects this has had on our personal relationship, which he was bent on destroying, I know that she has objected to the controls over her life through his controls over her finances. I don’t know the details. I recall telling her many times that I would consider some of his activities nothing but blackmail.
Though I have provided considerable information to support my complaints against Schwab to Paul Mueller of your FBI office in Portland, I have not received any response or follow up. Neither have I heard anything from the SEC.
I would appreciate your assistance in stopping Mr. Schwab’s harassment and stalking activities. Though Ms. Haines has much greater reason to complain about Mr.Schwab’s activities, I am very concerned about his ongoing hacking into my computers, intercepting my email, and forwarding some of these to Ms.Haines. I believe this practice took place over a period starting the end of last year through part of August. For all I know it could still be taking place.

Enclosed find a letter written to President George Bush regarding stalking and questionable financial activities by Mr. Charles Schwab. This claim is based entirely upon information, both verbal and written, plus a tape recording, received over the past six months. Because he was jilted by Ms. Haines, and because he had, based upon my very limited information, questionable financial dealings with Ms. Haines, he has harassed her and stalked both of us for the past six months.

Though I have been warned many times by Ms. Haines not to try to seek justice because of Mr. Schwab’s power in the world and what he might do to us, I feel I should do my part in joining the effort to bring such people to justice. I know how difficult this is due to all the financial and political relationships that exist and the effort to protect one another.

For the first time in my life I fear the repercussions from Mr. Schwab, his family, and his many powerful friends. Still, I proceed and would encourage a full investigation of his activities relative to these claims and any necessary protection for Ms. Haines and myself.

The concern I would like to bring to your attention is outlined in the enclosed letter to President George Bush, so I will not elaborate on the matter here. My information about what I feel is Mr.Schwab’s illegal activities is based primarily upon verbal and documented information from Ms.Varian Haines, and my witnessing the turmoil she has endured due to Mr.Charles Schwab’s ongoing harassment and stalking activities. Besides the affects this has had on our personal relationship, which he was bent on destroying, I know that she has objected to the controls over her life through his controls over her finances. I don’t know the details. I recall telling her many times that I would consider some of his activities nothing but blackmail.

Though I have provided considerable information to support my complaints against Schwab to Paul Mueller of your FBI office in Portland, I have not received any response or follow up. Neither have I heard anything from the SEC.

I would appreciate your assistance in stopping Mr. Schwab’s harassment and stalking activities. Though Ms. Haines has much greater reason to complain about Mr.Schwab’s activities, I am very concerned about his ongoing hacking into my computers, intercepting my email, and forwarding some of these to Ms.Haines. I believe this practice took place over a period starting the end of last year through part of August. For all I know it could still be taking place.
